The whole story

Lui started to pant on Wednesday just around midnight so we could see it's comming. During the day she got a little calmer and actually had periods of panting and periods of sleeping. I took her just for short walks but she enjoyed them. Neverless the panting Lui was all dry which showed me it's not going to be like now! At 2am Lui woke me as she was sitting next to me and staring at me (I was asleep on the floor in our baby room). I found a tiny bit of mucose on where she was sitting, then I let her out for a pee. I thought we have time but then at 2:30 water broke.. So I sat with Lui in the whelping box and made sure she was comfortable. After 3am I could see a puppy is comming so I gave a call to my sister who is my puppy birth asistant. Lui pushed hard and at 4:13 our first puppy arrived. A red!!! A beautiful 300g boy. I dryed him and he started to look for a snack. As soon as he started drinking Lui started to push again.

Lui thought this was a good position..

So I gave our boy to my sister who made sure he is warm and happy. 4:35 and we have another puppy! Another red!!!! This time a 340g girl. She had a drink but Lui thought there is no time to waste and at 4:50 another baby arrived and believe it or not - a red!!!! A 300g boy with very rich colouring. Ok so we have three red heads :-)

At 5:17 another puppy arrives - this time a tri - actually a huge tri! 400g boy - Lui pushed twice and he was out. She is such a fantastic whelper! Our ultrasound five weeks ago showed 4 puppies and also because Lui got a bit calmer we thought the show is over. I sent my sister to bed, changed the sheets in the whelping box. It was sometime past 7 and Lui started to push again.. And at 7:40 we had another 300g tri boy. What a lovely morning :-) My dad woke up and met the new family. Unfortunatelly it was time for me to go to school and get signed in for my 3rd year.. Luckily I have a great dad who drove down town to give my index to my friends Klarka and Kaja who took it to school and got everything organised for me! Thank you everyone!
Lui thought five is not enough and at 8:15 another tri boy arrived and so the family was complete.

Lui is a loving mother, very caring and yet sensitive. Granny Amy was crying throught the delivery..she says she also wants puppies! If Lui wasn't watching she would go in the whelping box and lay with them. Grandpa Chance says he doesn't want anthing to do with them :-) He likes bigger puppies..I will take pictures tomorrow. I tried today but the lighting wasn't good.
